Endnote

What is Endnote?

Endnote is a reference management tool. It can be useful when writing academic texts and have a large number of references to manage throughout your work.

With Endnote you can:

  • import references from databases and search engines
  • organize and share references
  • insert text references in your document and create a bibliography in different reference styles.

How does Endnote work?

EndNote Desktop

  • With EndNote Desktop your references are stored locally on your computer.
  • As a student or staff at Malmo university you can download EndNote Desktop for free.

Word

  • When installing Endnote Desktop you will also install a plug-in for Word, “Cite while you write”.
  • With “cite while you write” you get access to the references in your Endnote library.

Endnote Online

  • With the web version Endnote Online you get access to your references when using different computers
  • Endnote Online can be used alone or with your Endnote Desktop
  • Endnote Online has many functions, but not all functionality provided by EndNote Desktop, and is free to use.
