Brainstorming search terms
Once you've decided on your topic it is time think about how to search for research on your topic, i.e. what search terms to use. It is a good idea to take a minute to think about your research question. What are the most important aspects or key terms of your research question?
There are many ways to brainstorm, for instance you can make a mind map or you could use our worksheet pictured below:
You can keep the worksheet during your database search and continue to add or remove words as you go along. To find more search terms, check the abstracts and keywords of the results of your searches.
